This trivet is constructed of 100% cotton rope, coiled by hand and sewn by machine. The thread used is 100% polyester, for durability. It can be spot cleaned with water and soap (air dry).
The process of making these bags is not unlike the throwing of a clay pot - it takes shape as you go and the final product is a little bit uneven and wobbly. (This is what gives it its charm, I think.) The thread work is intended to have a "sketchy" appearance - if you are looking for perfect, even stitches, you will not find them here.
