This "basket" is constructed of 100% cotton rope, coiled by hand and sewn by machine. The thread (white and black) used is 100% polyester, for durability. It can be spot cleaned with water and soap (air dry).
It comes with a small loop that can be used as a yarn holder, if you want to use it as a yarn bowl.
The process of making these bags is not unlike the throwing of a clay pot - it takes shape as you go and the final product is a little bit uneven and wobbly. (This is what gives it its charm, I think.) The thread work is intended to have a "sketchy" appearance - if you are looking for perfect, even stitches, you will not find it here.

In order to keep shipping costs reasonable, this item will be compressed as small as possible but will regain its original volume and shape once removed from the packaging and plumped up.
